The staff of the Relief Coordination Centre regularly participates in this noble cause because we understand the importance of donated blood for saving lives.
The RСC constantly joins donations and encourages others to do the same. After all, donated blood is almost the only way to save the life of a person with massive blood loss.
Today, when the enemy destroys our cities and villages and takes the lives of adults and children, donation is another line of defense in the rear. This is a matter that is within the power of almost everyone.
We are grateful to everyone who holds the donor front together with us. We wish all donors in Ukraine good health and a long life under a peaceful sky.
We are constantly working to ensure that all evacuees placed in temporary accommodation centres are provided with everything they need.
In particular, we ensure that people are accommodated in the most comfortable conditions possible and have a sufficient supply of food, household chemicals, and hygiene products. We also take care of the psychological state of the evacuees - both children and adults.
We are grateful to everyone who tirelessly works in the most difficult areas.
We would like to remind you that the hotline number for appeals from the population regarding evacuation is: 0800 339 291. Calls and the entire evacuation process are free.
Thanks to cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the financial support of USAID, and the European Union, we conducted two large-scale trainings with master classes for migrants. These events became a real source of knowledge, development, and psychological relief. Despite all the trials, we continue to develop, acquire new knowledge, and become psychologically stronger! In total, we had a chance to work with 150 adults and children from 8 hostels for IDPs. Participants had the opportunity to learn useful skills, reveal their potential, and find a sense of peace and support in a circle of like-minded people. We are grateful to our partners for such an important initiative! Your support is a ray of light for those who have been forced to leave their homes. Together we will overcome all the obstacles!
It will take place on the territory of the Chkalovska community from April 1 to September 30. Until September 2022, this territory was partially occupied, it suffered significant damage and serious destruction.
The project is implemented in two main directions: FSL (Food security livelihood) and Wash (Water, sanitation, and hygiene).
Let me tell you about each in detail.
FSL aims to strengthen the agricultural capacity of the region.
How does it work?
The Relief Coordination Centre conducts a survey, which is necessary to determine the degree of damage caused to each household. At the same time, vulnerable categories are singled out: pensioners, children, low-income families, people with disabilities, IDPs, and those who sheltered them. Based on the results of this work, 40 households will be selected.
The next step is training. At the end of May, representatives of the selected families will undergo a three-day training in Kharkiv. The purpose of the training is to determine the directions in which each of the families would like to work. For example, crop production, livestock production, etc. After the training, each household will receive financial assistance. These funds can be spent on the purchase of seeds, fertilizers, agricultural machinery, reconstruction, or construction of farm buildings. The Relief Coordination Centre specialists will check the compliance of the actual costs with the planned ones.
Wash deals with water supply, drainage, and hygiene. We are talking about restoring existing wells, and drilling wells, both for economic needs and as sources of drinking water. Water is a primary need. Therefore, we would like to thank the Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund for supporting this important direction.
Many of us dream of the opportunity to start our own projects and initiatives that will allow us to improve our community's lives. However, the path to implementing such ideas usually becomes difficult due to financial constraints. Grants are a tool that can become our faithful partner in making dreams come true.
We are glad to announce that the Relief Coordination Centre together with JERU is launching a grant competition for communities of Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. 10 grants of €2,000 are waiting for those who are ready to start important projects aimed at solving urgent problems.
The program clearly defines 3 priority directions:
SHELTER is repair and restoration of residential buildings, bomb shelters, electricity, etc.;
WASH is an improvement of water supply and drainage systems, cleaning of water intakes;
URGENT: urgent needs requiring immediate intervention.
The Relief Coordination Centre team has already visited numerous settlements, where the presentation of this competition took place, and answered the questions of all those interested in the implementation of the projects.
We invite you to take part in the competition, highlight the problems of your communities, and be active and responsible citizens of our country!
