The Public Development Centre was opened in Kharkiv. An important event for the city, for society and for the restoration of the Kharkiv region. It was the volunteers and NGOs who stepped in and helped evacuate people, provided humanitarian aid to people in the city and region after the start of the full-scale invasion. And the community of IDPs, which filled the city, the region, became a new force for the development and reconstruction of our country. The Centre plans to train volunteers, active citizens, including representatives of IDPs, representatives of charitable foundations, public organizations, in many directions.
The purpose of the event was to present the RCC's activities on the example of Kharkiv Oblast and to develop joint plans for 2023 (best practices and work planning).
Participants: representatives of the RCC, representatives of the "SAVEPEACE.IN.U" Charitable Foundation, specialised humanitarian deputies of the Military Administrations (Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Donetsk, Luhansk regions).
The event was organised by the NGO "Agency of Effective Solutions" with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
This event is a step towards optimising resources and accelerating the provision of support to civilians in terms of evacuation, humanitarian assistance, food needs and coping with the consequences of the war.
Residents of Kupiansk raion are constantly suffering from daily shelling, so this humanitarian aid is extremely important and necessary for them. The residents of the affected communities will receive food and hygiene items, thermal blankets, solid fuel heaters and other types of aid. Relief Coordination Centre is engaged in distribution of these items in close coordination and cooperation with the Kupiansk Raion Military Administration.
Since the beginning of autumn, volunteers in the Kharkiv region have evacuated 26,000 people from the de-occupied areas of the region. The Helping to Leave charity organisation, together with the Relief Coordination Centre, collects and coordinates applications from those wishing to leave and finds benefactors to take people. There are still people in the border areas, some with children, who refuse to leave. There are free places for them in the city's dormitories. Watch how the evacuation is going, where those who have left live and how many children remain under fire.
