    43 local charity and non-governmental organizations´ representatives became a part of the Project.

    Launching the coordination platform between the civil society organizations in the emergency response area in the region caused by the armed aggression of the russian federation.

    The “Rapid Response Group” is a regional level project and now it has been operated only on the territory of Kharkiv City. At the nearest time, it is planned to broaden the project in all the de-occupied Kharkiv hromadas.

    At the moment, the charity sector representatives have created the internal structure using coordinating mechanisms by uniting according to the response emergency directions.

    These mechanisms are:

    • work to eliminate the consequences of shelling, such as conservation of buildings, their renovation or deconstruction;

    • psychological and psychosociological assistance to the civil society;

    • provide volunteers and public services representatives who are involved in eliminating the consequences of the emergencies caused by military actions.

    We would like to highlight that all the response activities are done in strict coordination with the heads of the city and regional authorities, as well as with representatives of utilities and the State Emergency Service.

    In the meantime, 8 facilities damaged by shelling have been conserved, about 1,500 windows have been sealed, and about 300 people have received psychosocial and first aid assistance.

    This project proves that the joint activities of the volunteer community are necessary and they are fruitful.

    The first volunteer insurance project in Ukraine

    The first volunteer insurance project in Ukraine

    The Relief Coordination Centre launches pioneering volunteer insurance program which is the first project of this scale in Ukraine. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, Kharkiv and its surrounding region have held a special status, bearing the brunt of numerous trials and harrowing incidents. But no matter what Kharkiv's volunteers have united into a formidable force, selflessly venturing into 'hot zones' to conduct evacuation missions and deliver humanitarian aid, often at the risk of their own lives. We conducted a study and found that 21% of the surveyed organizations came under fire, where volunteers received: - shrapnel wounds; - contusion; - some of these missions resulted in the tragic deaths of volunteers. Therefore, we understand that volunteer insurance is extremely important!
